(SPOT.ph) There was a time inflight snacks were the best part about flying. That's right, kids, airplane food was once a wonder that was expected on flights, no matter what ticket you bought—and if you fly regularly with Philippine Airlines, you'd know it's still pretty much the norm even today. Our flagship carrier is well known for their food. From the arroz caldo in their lounge to the little snacks on the plane, most well-known of which are the Guisantes Espesyal. Whether it's a fave or you've never gotten to try, here's your chance: the addicting snacks are available on Shopee and Lazada.

The little baggies are available to buy from stores on Shopee and Lazada. You can buy one big pack with 12 pouches inside for P255 on Shopee or P300 on Lazada (currently on sale for P249). That's about P21 per pouch.

What do PAL's Guisantes Espesyal snacks taste like?

We went ahead and gave the snacks a try, of course (how can we resist adding to cart?). It arrived quickly and neatly packaged, in the familiar design we've grown accustomed to on flights. These snacks are made in Cebu under the brand of La Mesa Filipina. And as said on their packaging, they're all about "no-frills Philippine delicacies."

Guisantes Espesyal is a mix of dried green peas with bits of mangoes mixed in. Opening a little packet showed quite a lot of the mix, definitely more than enough to munch on while spacing out and looking out your airplane window, or in our case, zoning out at the office (during lunch break, we promise). The peas were perfectly crisp and dry, with a salty-garlicky seasoning that made it very addictive. The more of it we ate, the more we felt just the littlest bit of heat, too. Dried mangoes aren't exactly the norm in this type of snack, but the bits of fruit gave us a needed sweet break from all the umami. Just note that due to their little size, they would stick to our molars and were a little more of a chore to chew.

All in all this is a fun, this snack is a fun addition to your pantry. Doesn't matter if you fly PAL regularly or not.
